Founded by Kiyotaka Hirai, former executive vice president of Yamato Hong Kong, UART was established in 2005 to develop figures with both the Japanese and overseas market in mind. UART plans the development, production and promotion schedule to decrease the release lag of collectible figures worldwide.
UART has produced figures for titles such as To Heart 2, Zero-Shiki, Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo and Hellsing. The 2006-2007 line up includes figures for titles such as Trigun, Ikki Tousen, Bastard! and Tsukuyomi-Moon Phase, as well as high quality original figures by Japan's most talented sculptors. Broccoli International will promote the UART brand in North America through distribution channels, media outlets, trade shows and to direct consumers. With Broccoli International's expertise in anime and manga business that includes licensing, manufactureing and distribution in North America, UART plans to expand their brand and customer base in North America.
